Background & Evolution
TAG Offshore Limited was incorporated in 2003 with the vision to be the leading provider of marine support services to Offshore Exploration & Production, Marine Construction and Port / Terminal activities.
The Company was formed through the acquisition of the offshore business of Essar Shipping Limited. Since inception the business has grown to a fleet strength of twelve vessels including offshore supply vessels, a platform supply vessel and tugs.
TAG Offshore’s client list includes oil and gas majors, construction companies and ports, such as Oil and Natural Gas Corporation of India (ONGC), PEMEX, Gujurat State Petroleum Corporation (GSPC), British Gas (BG), Global Industries, Reliance, Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT), Cochin Port Trust and Goa Port Trust.
The Management
The Tag Offshore team includes experienced Master Mariners & Marine
Engineers, Chartered Accountants and office personnel in support functions with
substantial experience in ship operations, management and administration. The
team is headed by Shamik Apparao and Harsha Vardhana.
Shamik
Apparao (Managing Director)
Shamik is a graduate from the City
University in London where he was awarded a Master of Science in Shipping, Trade
and Finance. He started TAG Offshore Limited in April 01, 2003 after 2 years
training in Essar Shipping. Prior to this, he completed his undergraduate in
Business Administration from the European Business School in London.
K V Harsha Vardhana (Chief Executive
Officer)
Harsha is a management professional with several years
of experience in operations excellence and corporate strategy. He joined TAG
Offshore in late 2009 after having worked with fortune 100 clients in various
industries, in his capacity as a management consultant, both in India and the
United States. He has a a graduate degree in Business Administration from Duke
University in the United States and an undergraduate degree in Mechanical
Engineering from University of Madras.
